About us — the family behind MacÉireann

What started as a simple idea between family members has grown into a project we are incredibly proud to share with the world.

We are a team of four individuals, connected not only by family ties but by a shared passion for travel, discovery, and storytelling. Coming from diverse backgrounds and bringing different experiences, skills, and perspectives to the table, we each played a unique role in turning an idea into reality.

As passionate world travellers ourselves, we've always believed that the best journeys are those that allow you to connect with a place, its people, and its stories. Inspired by our grá (love) of Ireland and the breathtaking beauty of the Wild Atlantic Way, we set out to create an experience that would help visitors explore this remarkable coastline in a meaningful and memorable way.

Our audio-guided tour app was born from that vision. What began as conversations around a table gradually evolved into countless hours of research, planning, recording, testing, and learning. Along the way, we discovered not only more about Ireland's history, culture, and hidden gems, but also more about each other. Every challenge helped us appreciate the individual strengths, talents, and creativity that each person brings to the company.

Creating this app has been a journey in itself — one filled with learning, collaboration, laughter, and a genuine belief in what we are building.
